[ARCHIVED] Park & Plug: Electric Vehicle Charger at City Hall

Electric Car with plug

In July 2019, the City of Apopka applied to have electric vehicle (EV) charging stations installed at City Hall. The stations were installed as part of Duke Energy’s Park & Plug Program, which is working to provide electric vehicle charging stations in Florida. Among many benefits, the program intends to promote the adoption of clean transportation in communities.

The first charging station became available at the end of January and is located between the 4th and 5th spaces in the main public parking lot (westside). Parking spaces for charging are marked with green painted lines. The station allows for charging of two vehicles simultaneously and does not require a fee at this time.

Visitors with electric vehicles can register at, the Greenlots app (available on IOS and Android), or by calling 855-900-7584. Once registered, visitors can initiate a session by scanning the QR code on the charging station with their smart phone and pressing “start”.
