Registration has started for Apopka Police Department’s 12-week Apopka Citizens Police Academy. This academy will begin on February 13, 2020 and end on April 30, 2020. Classes will be each Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Apopka Police Training Facility located at 321 East Cleveland Street, Apopka, FL. This free program is open to any citizen on a first-come, first-serve basis and seating is extremely limited.

This program gives citizens the opportunity to get a first-hand and personal look at how the Apopka Police Department works from the men and women who are currently serving. Those attending this class will hear from members of the SWAT team, Crime Scene Investigators, the K-9 unit, and even receive a tour of the agency’s Communication Center.

Applications are available at the front lobby of the Apopka Police Department located at 112 East 6th Street during normal business hours 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday (Except holidays). Applicants must be at least 18 years old and are required to undergo a background check as part of the application process. This academy is not for employment or Law Enforcement certification.
