Fleet Maintenance

The division maintains all city vehicles, machinery and equipment. The division also oversees fueling, which includes environmentally friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) in some city vehicles. Natural gas reduces the price of fuel and has assisted with lowering emissions.

The Fleet Maintenance Division, consisting of one superintendent, three Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians and five other skilled technicians, is responsible for the routine maintenance and repairs of all City vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, for the following departments: Police, Fire, Administration, Solid Waste, Recreation, Water Resources, Fleet Maintenance, Cemetery, and Streets & Grounds. Vehicles range from Class 1 (light duty) through Class 8 (heavy duty), as well as generators, lawn equipment, and off road equipment.

This Division is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City's conventional and CNG fuel island as well as the Orlando-Apopka Airport fueling station.

The goal of the Fleet Maintenance Division is to provide a service and replacement program that maintains vehicles and equipment in a timely, cost efficient manner ensuring safe and reliable operation of all.
