To ensure the City can effectively manage stormwater by reducing flooding and improving the health of waterbodies that receive this stormwater, the City has implemented a Stormwater Management Utility. The City has established this utility under Section 78-132 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.
Some items the utility, or fee, is used to do are –
Construct and maintain pipes, culverts, inlets, and stormwater retention/detention facilities
Acquire land to expand the City’s stormwater management system
Upgrade the stormwater management system by increasing size of conveyances and/or installing pollution reduction devices
