Automated Garbage Collection

Automated collection is a technologically advanced system of solid waste collection. The system is called "automated" because a special truck, equipped with a mechanical/robotic arm, automatically lifts and empties the City provided trash containers called carts, without the driver having to leave the cab of the truck. It is as simple as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Wheel your household trash or recyclables to the curb by 7 AM on your regularly scheduled trash or recyclables collection day.
  2. Place the cart so that the wheel are facing your house. Make sure it is 3 feet away from the curb and at least 5 feet from other objects, such as parked vehicles, fire hydrants, or mailboxes.
  3. Only trash or recyclables placed inside the cart will be picked up. Do not place items on top of the lid or at the sides of the cart.

City-Issued Trash & Recycling Carts

City issued cart colors are black for household trash and gray for recyclables.

All City residents must establish an account with Utility Billing before garbage collection services can begin. Please call Utility Billing at 407-703-1727 to open an account.
