Engineering Division

Overview

The Engineering Division strives to provide quality professional, technical and engineering support services that exceed the needs and expectations of our customers, providing safe and efficient movement of traffic through the optimal use and maintenance of the most appropriate traffic control devices or equipment.

  • Floodplain analysis
  • Impact fee evaluations
  • Landfill permitting and inspections
  • Maintenance of traffic plan review
  • Permitting
  • Review of storm water drainage improvements
  • Review of subdivision plats and administration of improvements for the City of Apopka
  • Right-of-Way permitting
  • Roadway inspection services

Drainage & Development

The Engineering Division also manages issues and information related to water drainage and traffic circulation. The City Engineering staff ensures that the design of new developments adhere to city, county and state engineering standards. Areas of review include:
  • Drainage calculations
  • Elevation surveys
  • Flood plain management
  • Impact fee information
  • Traffic circulation studies
Assistance in the resolution of drainage issues, traffic congestion and other engineering related challenges throughout the city are also provided by this staff.
